Dr. Atcher holds a doctorate from the University of Rochester, N.Y. and a master's in business administration from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
Achievements:
Dr. Atcher has published 85 peer-reviewed journal articles and has written over 80 abstracts for national meetings. In addition, Atcher holds six patents (two pending) and has given 120 invited lectures for a variety of audiences.

Robert Atcher, Ph.D., M.B.A., 2009-10 immediate past president of SNM, is the Director of the National Isotope Development Center in the Office of Nuclear Physics, US Dept. of Energy. He is the University of New Mexico/Los Alamos National Laboratory Professor of Pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.. He has served in several different capacities with the national laboratory since 1997, most recently as the program manager for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Programs in the Bioscience Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. A member of SNM's Southwest Chapter, Dr. Atcher serves as chair of SNM's Domestic Isotope Task Force. He is also chair of the SNM's government relations committee, awards committee and public relations committee. He has also held a number of national positions and has served as a member of the Task Force on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Regulation of Accelerator and Natural Radioisotopes, the Commission on Radiopharmaceuticals and several other SNM committees.
He has served as an associate chair of the society's Scientific Program Committee (SPC) and has served as the SPC's radiopharmaceuticals vice chair. He is a founding member of SNM's Nuclear Oncology Council. His also a past president of the Radiopharmaceutical Science Council.
