Martha Nolan is the Senior Director of Government and Strategic Affairs for The Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research.  She joins the team after working in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Washington Office.  Prior to the CDC, Martha was Vice President for Public Policy at the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) for twelve years where she successfully led the organization’s legislative and regulatory initiatives, making permanent the offices’ of women’s health in our federal agencies and increasing the importance of examining sex differences as part of biomedical research from bench to bedside. Prior to SWHR, Martha worked for the health insurance industry, first as a lawyer then as a lobbyist, for seventeen years, including stints at MetLife, United Health Group, CIGNA and HIAA.  Martha has over 25 years of federal and state legislative advocacy and policy development experience in health care and insurance.
