The reality of modern academic research is the line between imaging and bioengineering has become blurred by technology and multidisciplinary work. The Academy has many researchers that come from bioengineering-based training and many universities combine their imaging and bioengineering programs. The Academy welcomes the diversity of backgrounds and sees the differing perspectives in approach to research and believe it enriches all involved.
The Academy will continue to add bioengineers to our efforts and expect greater collaboration through multidisciplinary efforts as technology continues to blur the distinctions.
