On February 24 and 25, the Coalition for Imaging and Bioengineering Research (CIBR) co-sponsored a summit on radiation dose exposure with the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) in Bethesda, Maryland.
The summit was entitled “Management of Radiation Dose in Computerized Tomography: Toward the Sub-mSv Exam,” and featured panels and presentations that showcased a wide variety of perspectives on this important topic. Several of the speakers and moderators were leaders of the Academy and CIBR, including Dr. Hedvig Hricak from Memorial Sloan Kettering; Dr. Norbert Pelc from Stanford University; Dr. William Bradley from UCSD; Dr. James Brink from Yale; Dr. James Thrall from Massachusetts General; and Dr. Steven Seltzer from Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
