Physicians and scientists work on protecting patients from getting too much radiation from CT scans. Patients fear radiation exposure raises their risk of cancer, and scientists are working to reduce this risk. To reduce radiation from routine scans, computer programs are being developed allowing radiologists and technicians to take sharper pictures while vastly reducing radiation dose.
